Residential
Residential LED lighting for every room: chandeliers, pendants, vanity lights, flush mounts, sconces and lamps from over 350 manufacturers, with help from a design team that has 50+ years of combined experience.
How to light a room in layers
Most rooms look best with three layers. Ambient light fills the room (flush mounts, chandeliers, recessed lights). Task light goes where you work or read (pendants over an island, vanity lights, desk and floor lamps). Accent light adds depth (sconces, picture lights, lamps on a console). Putting each layer on its own switch or dimmer lets one room work for cooking, homework and dinner guests.
Pick one color temperature per room
Warm white (2700K to 3000K) suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms. Kitchens, baths and offices often use 3000K to 3500K. Keeping every bulb in a room at the same Kelvin rating avoids the patchy look of mixed whites. For true skin tones and finishes, look for a CRI of 90 or higher.
Fixture size cheat sheet
- Chandelier diameter in inches ≈ room length plus width in feet.
- Ceilings under 8 ft: flush mounts. 8 to 9 ft: semi-flush. 9 ft and up: chandeliers and pendants.
- Pendants over an island: 30 to 36 in above the counter, about 24 to 30 in apart.
What color temperature is best for a living room?
Most people prefer 2700K to 3000K warm white in living rooms and bedrooms. It reads cozy at night and flatters skin tones.
Can I put LED fixtures on a dimmer?
Many LED fixtures are dimmable, but not all, and some need a compatible LED dimmer. Check the product specs or call us and we will confirm the right dimmer for the fixture.
