Where mini pendants work best
Mini pendants deliver focused light without blocking sightlines, which makes them a favorite over kitchen islands, bars and peninsulas. They also free up nightstand space when hung beside a bed.
- Over an island: 30 to 36 in above the counter, about 24 to 30 in apart.
- Beside a bed: hang the bottom roughly 20 to 24 in above the nightstand.
- For task work, pick 3000K to 3500K with a CRI of 90 or higher.
How many mini pendants for an island?
Most islands take two or three. Odd numbers often look balanced on longer islands; keep 24 to 30 in between fixtures.
Can mini pendants be the only light in a kitchen?
They usually work best as task light alongside recessed or ceiling lights, which handle the general light in the room.
